Hi All,
Thank you for continuing to tune in to everything going on at IIOP. In this past month we had several students attend the American Academy of Orthotist and Prosthetist annual meeting. Here they were able to experience the presentation of exciting new research among many other O&P professionals. We have also begun our third course of the semester on lower limb orthotics. Along with a myriad of off the shelf orthotics, we have crafted our own functional foot orthotics, UCBL’s, and AFO’s. It has been exciting and challenging to work with the lower extremity because “everything changes when the foot hits the ground”! Each day we get to work towards correcting each other’s unique joint structures and achieve (near) perfect alignment! Outside of class, it seems like the most beautiful time of the year in Tampa, Florida. The weather is perfect to find a spot just around the corner from school and hang a hammock in the mangroves!
