Upon successful completion of the course *, the state of Florida will ONLY accept this CE credit towards licensure obtainment or renewal for the following Orthotic and Prosthetic healthcare disciplines:

Medical Errors

This course is designed to provide practitioners within specific Orthotic and Prosthetic disciplines an opportunity to be awarded one (1) continuing education (CE) credit in the area of prevention of medical errors, including a study of root cause analysis, error reduction and prevention, patient safety and medical records training. Upon successful completion of the course *, the state of Florida will ONLY accept this CE credit towards licensure obtainment or renewal for the following Orthotic and Prosthetic healthcare disciplines:

  • Orthotist

  • Prosthetist

  • Prosthetist/Orthotist

  • Pedorthist

  • Orthotic Fitter

  • Orthotic Fitter Assistant

STARband Cranial Course

ABC Credit Hours 25 (S)​

Orthotists and allied health care professionals around the world are receiving referrals for cranial remolding orthoses and are interested in learning as much as possible about this group of infants. The STARband Cranial Course was developed by Orthomerica Products, Inc. and represents the most comprehensive approach to cranial remolding programs from the worldwide leader in manufacturing cranial remolding orthoses. This course will provide access to clinical information so that the clinician can provide quality care and the best possible outcomes for infants with deformational plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, and scaphocephaly along with postoperative craniosynostosis.

Initial inquiries should be directed to Orthomerica Products, Inc. as any learner must first be a customer of Orthomerica in order to be approved to take the course. The STARband Cranial Course is hosted by the International Institute of Orthotics & Prosthetics (IIOP). Tuition for the course is $300* and payable by credit card to IIOP upon registration for this course. Clinicians will have 60 days from the date of registration to complete the entire online learning program.

Spring 2025 Orthotic Fitter Pre-Certification Course

20 hours virtual / 20 hours live

After completing the 20-hour didactic online portion of the course and all related quizzes and exams, you will be eligible to complete the 3-day laboratory portion at the International Institute of Orthotics campus. Classes will be held on Wednesday, February 5th, Thursday, February 6th and Friday, February 7th. *Includes 8 hr Florida requirement for casting custom molded shoes.

*A minimum of 5 students must be enrolled and complete all didactic coursework to begin laboratory coursework. If fewer than 5 students complete didactic coursework, students will be required to wait to begin lab until the next laboratory course offering. 

 This course meets the ABC educational requirement and is approved by CE Broker for Florida licensure. 

Spring 2025 Pedorthics Pre-Certification Course

80 hours virtual / 40 hours live

This course will give the student sufficient knowledge to assure entry-level competence to enter the field of Pedorthics. This includes lectures, laboratory work, and demonstrated clinical interventions. After completing the 80-hour didactic online portion of the course and all related quizzes and exams, you will be eligible to complete the 5-day laboratory portion at the International Institute of Orthotics and Prosthetics campus. Classes will be held Monday, March 10th - Friday, March 14th. 

*At least 5 students must be enrolled and complete all didactic coursework to begin laboratory coursework. If fewer than 5 students complete the didactic coursework, students must wait until the next laboratory course offering. 

This course meets the ABC educational requirement and is approved by CE Broker for Florida licensure.
